Day 1002- Beyond
When I started this journey almost three years ago, I wasn’t completely sure where it would take me. I knew I would improve as a player, but looking back, it is amazing to read the posts and remember the moments along the way. It is easy to remember the experiences I wrote about and the epiphanies I had, but it’s quite difficult to remember what it was like before those moments. I have grown so much, it is hard to go back and remember what it felt like before knowing what I know now. True breakthroughs have a permanence that is remarkable. It is difficult to remember what it was like before. Instead I am focusing on the beyond. There is more work to do.
I am thankful that I was able to see the journey through. 1000 days took a great sacrifice, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. There is no question that practicing every day yielded more growth than any other way of spending those days. Everyone is different, but it worked for me, and I am excited to see what the next 1000 days has in store for my playing. I feel like I have a clear idea of what I need to practice, and how to improve. It’s just a matter of time to put it together. I want to thank my family and friends for their support, and I look forward to new discoveries. Let’s see what 2000 days does!
I will keep posting- probably some stats and eureka moments from the practice room. Hopefully we will be beyond COVID by then, but either way there is work to be done, so let’s focus on that! I’m left with Pablo Casals, who even in his 90’s explained his desire to practice by saying “because I think I’m making progress”. Nothing else needs to be said.
