Apps to help you Practice

Doctor Drone

by Eddie Ludema and Jason Sulliman

This app has amazing features for the serious practicer. You can write melodies and bass lines and save them for future use. It allows you to practice along with reference tempo and reference pitch. You can create patterns where the tune modulates around the circle or up/down chromatically.

For orchestral musicians or period musicians, you can calibrate the pitch to a wide variety of frequency (like A-442 or A-425, etc.).

This app also allows you to have beats randomly silenced so you can test yourself and develop independence with pitch and time. You can read more about the features at the app store here.
